VCF to Excel Converter
Turn a vCard (.vcf) file into a spreadsheet Excel opens correctly — one contact per row, readable names in any language. Free, in your browser, no upload.
How it works
- Drop one or more .vcf files — from an iPhone, iCloud, Gmail, Outlook or an old phone.
- Keep the Universal — Excel preset (UTF-8 with BOM) — or switch to Google/Outlook columns if the file is headed for an import.
- Download the .csv and double-click it: Excel opens it with one contact per row; save as .xlsx if you need that format.
Why vCardForge
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. Your address book is never uploaded to any server — you can switch off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.
No “Д-garbage in Excel
The CSV carries a UTF-8 BOM, which Excel recognizes — accented, Cyrillic and CJK names come out readable, not as question marks.
Handles messy files
Old Nokia exports in vCard 2.1, quoted-printable encoding, several phones per contact, duplicates — parsed and cleaned automatically.
FAQ
How do I open a VCF file in Excel?
Excel can't open vCard files as a table directly. Convert the .vcf to CSV above, then double-click the CSV — Excel opens it with one contact per row.
Will Excel display non-English names correctly?
Yes. The CSV is written as UTF-8 with BOM, which Excel recognizes — Cyrillic, accented and CJK characters display correctly.
Can I convert Excel to VCF?
Yes: save your sheet as CSV UTF-8 in Excel, then use the CSV to VCF converter to turn rows back into vCard contacts.
Do I get an .xlsx file?
You get a .csv, which Excel opens natively and saves as .xlsx in one step. CSV keeps the conversion instant and fully in-browser.
How many contacts are free?
The first 100 contacts per export are free. Pro ($14 one-time) removes the limit.
